Payment Reconciliation Streamlined

FirstData (acquired by Fiserv) is a global leader in payments and financial technology, serving thousands of financial institutions and millions of merchants in more than 100 countries.

FirstData Argentina contacted me to create a payment conciliator within the FirstData platform. The primary objective was to empower users to seamlessly view and manage all credit cards transactions within the FirstData tool.

Discovery

We adopted an iterative approach consisting of three key stages: Research, Design, and Testing. Each cycle aimed to measure the tool's performance through user testing, mitigating risks and refining the project's direction.

The initial phase involved conducting benchmarking exercises and analyzing user tasks to discern requirements effectively.

The main objective was to reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and provide better tracking and reporting.

Ideation & Design

Following research insights, we created wireframes and navigation flows following usability standards and integrated with the interaction patterns of the tool already in production. Key components included:

  • Dashboard showcasing authorization, rejection, and settlement data with intuitive graphs.

  • Operational cash flow breakdown by date, processor, and bank.

  • System configuration options.

Iteration & Implementation

We optimized the interface based on user feedback and usability findings. We ensure implementation of design decisions (usability, navigation hierarchies, readability, etc.) were accurately addressed into the final product.
